Since late Friday, a 16-year-old was killed and 26 people were wounded in Chicago gun violence — one incident taking place at the annual Bud Billiken Parade, according to CBS Chicago. 
The teen was shot in the head Sunday around 8:30 p.m. and then transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. The victim was reportedly part of a gang, according to the police. 
An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were shot Saturday during the Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic known as the oldest and largest African-American parade in the country since 1929. “Why can’t we just have one day of peace?” Sherri Grover, a parade goer, shouted to the crowd, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. 
There have been 197 people killed by gunshots in Chicago in 2014, according to Red Eye Chicago.
