Chicago Gun Violence: 1 Killed, 26 Wounded

Since late Friday, a 16-year-old was killed and 26 people were wounded in Chicago gun violence, one incident taking place at the annual Bud Billiken Parade.

The teen was shot in the head Sunday around 8:30 p.m. and then transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead around 9 p.m. The victim was reportedly part of a gang, according to the police. 
An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were shot Saturday during the Bud Billiken Parade and Picnic known as the oldest and largest African-American parade in the country since 1929. “Why can’t we just have one day of peace?” Sherri Grover, a parade goer, shouted to the crowd, according to the Chicago Sun-Times
There have been 197 people killed by gunshots in Chicago in 2014, according to Red Eye Chicago
