Morehouse Will Start New Semester Online Due To COVID

The HBCU released a statement.

The rate that the COVID-19 virus continues to increase around the country is making at least one Georgia HBCU take notice. Morehouse College has decided all classes will be online for the time being.

The all-male college put out a statement that “Morehouse College will be open for remote instruction only from now through Friday, January 28, 2022 due to the increased transmission of the COVID-19 Omicron variant across the nation and in the Atlanta area.”

COVID is spiking in the Peach State. Cases among 5- to 17-year-olds are up 193%, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health, and only 51 percent of the state is fully vaccinated.

Governor Brian Kemp is deploying the Georgia National Guard to assist with testing sites and hospitals.
