Newly minted Oklahoma City Thunder star Carmelo Anthony won’t let the fact that he’s miles away from his estranged wife La La Anthony, keep him from fighting for their marriage.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Melo, who lives in OKC because of his new role on the Thunder, sends “flowers and little gifts” to his wife, who resides in New York with their 10-year-old son Kiyan, to “let her know that he’s still thinking of her.”

That’s not the only glimpse of optimism for the Anthonys. Melo reportedly “facetimes” with La La and Kiyan “daily” and spends tons of time “watching all of Kiyan’s basketball videos” that his estranged wife sends him.

After seven years of marriage, Carmelo and La La Anthony reportedly separated in April 2017. During a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, La La said, “You know, marriages are tough. You know that, we all know that. It’s filled with ups and downs and we’re just going through a time right now, but him and I are the best of friends and our number 1 commitment is to our son Kiyan.”
