According to the Associated Press, four workers at the Sri Lankan private broadcaster’s headquarters were injured (March 22) during a protest to stop an Akon concert scheduled to take place in Colombo in April.

A handful of individuals were taken into custody for pelting the Maharaja Organization’s headquarters. As a result of the pelting, the Maharaja building's exterior was damaged. The workers’ injuries are not life threatening.

Protestors were upset at the imagery of Buddha presented in the music video, “Sexy Chick,” a clip Akon was featured in alongside David Guetta. The video features nearly naked video vixens dancing around a pool with a Buddha statue nearby. Akon and his label have yet to address the incident.
