Yesterday was a low point in American history. Our current President of the United States defended White supremacists, labeling protesters who were speaking out against hate as the "alt-left" and compared Robert E. Lee, a violent racist who wanted to dismantel the country in the 1860s, to President George Washington, who fought to create the country. 

This is the man with the same hateful views we have seen since the vile election or when he called for five Black teenagers to be executed in 1989. The power of the oval office has only made her more emboldened to battle bigotry.
