This Video Of Colin Kaepernick Working Out With Odell Beckham Jr. Shows He Hasn’t Taken Any Days Off

The former 49ers' quarterback looked in top shape while throwing passes to the Browns' star wide receiver.

Denied work for 917 days. That’s how the video released yesterday (Sept. 4) on Colin Kaepernick’s Instagram account begins.

The video is edited footage of a private workout on UCLA’s campus between Kap and Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) from two months ago.

OBJ, a “controversial” player, albeit for different reasons, showed up to the workout sporting a Kap jersey. OBJ, like many players around the league, support the blackballed former quarterback.

In the video, Kap is seen making “NFL throws” both from the pocket and on the run. The ball looks to be delivered on target and with velocity, as much as you can tell with any edited video.

The release of the video has gained a lot of traction and continued discussion about Kap’s ability to play in the league. A discussion that has gone on for 917 days. A discussion about his ability, desire and whether or not he’s a “distraction.”

A tiring discussion, where the same points are repeated over and over. For 917 days and counting.

That’s two and a half years. The amount of time since we last saw Kap playing quarterback in the NFL. The amount of time the league and its owners have worked to keep Kap out of the league.

It is clear that Kap still has an interest in pursuing a career in the NFL. Why put out videos of yourself working out?

OBJ has other things he could do with his time rather than work with a QB that’s not in the league. If one of the league’s star receiver’s cosigns Kap, that has to mean something, right?

Counting starters and backups, there are 64 QB’s in the NFL. Let’s assume all the starters are better than Kap, as well as half the backups. Is Kap capable of being the 49th or 50th best QB in the league?

Time will tell. But it’s been 917 days and counting. Maybe time never will tell.
