Tiffany Haddish: I Thought I Was Getting Paid For Presenting At The Oscars
Tiffany Haddish is undoubtedly having the best year ever, having just presented on the biggest stage in Hollywood: the Oscars. While she considered it an honor to present during the show, she admittedly missed the memo when she learned that she wasn't getting a check for the moment.
According to Variety, while at the South by Southwest premiere of her upcoming series The Last O.G., she said she thought she would be paid for her hilarious but brief on-stage performance with Maya Rudolph.
"In my mind, Maya [Rudolph] and I, we auditioned for the ultimate job because I thought we was getting paid for that presentation," she said. "And then I found out we didn't get paid, then I was like, 'I heard about gift bags.' And then they were like, 'We don't got no gift bags,' and then I was like, 'Well, what do I get?' and they [said], 'We got a bottle of wine that's like $13.' So, I had to buy the wine."
Not receiving her coins didn't sour her memory, though, as she added that she would definitely host the Academy Awards, if given the opportunity. She has one condition that must be fulfilled, though.
"That would be a dream come true. I know my father would be extremely proud if I got to do that," she said. "As long as I get a paycheck."
