She didn’t appreciate being fact-checked by Mo’Nique.

Comedic actress Rebel Wilson recently became Twitter's lunch after she made an arrogant comment heralding herself as the first plus-size woman to serve as the lead in a romantic comedy.

Since her words made their way online, she was reminded — specifically by Black Twitter — that Queen Latifah and Mo'Nique, who both came long before her, had already secured that spot of being the "firsts." Failing to accept their rightful criticisms, however, Wilson decided to go on a blocking spree on the social media platform.

Wilson, who stars in the upcoming rom-com Isn't It Romantic, upset many with her boastful and false claim on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, while promoting the film.

"I'm proud to be the first-ever plus-sized girl to be the star of a romantic comedy," she said.

After her comments went viral, many highlighted to her that she's far from such as Latifah has led several romantic comedies like Beauty Shop and Just Wright, and, of course, Mo'Nique became the face of that aesthetic with her film Phat Girlz.

A fan even detailed this truth to her, via Twitter, only for Wilson to respond in defense, claiming the plus-sized nature of the veteran actresses was "questionable," among other things.

"There's a slight grey area," she said.

Mo'Nique, herself, even criticized the actress, urging that she work on being an ally.

  1. Wilson responded to Mo'Nique, claiming she didn't intend on leaving her or Queen Latifah out of the conversation:

  2. However, while she claimed to have no ill intentions, she, soon after, went on a blocking spree against all of the people of color who criticized her for attempting to erase and overlook the work of the two Hollywood vets.

Her silent attempt at shutting her critics up didn't go unnoticed, as she was dragged for it, and then some.
