Azealia Banks and her fiery fighting words have ignited beefs all across the globe — literally.

From Australian actor Russell Crowe and music artist Iggy Azalea, to the UK with Zayn Malik, to her home turf with Harlem rap star A$AP Rocky and, most recently, Bronx femcee Cardi B, Azealia has had more than her fair share of controversies. But when it comes to fellow lady of rap Nicki Minaj, she seems to be having a change of heart.

In a private-turned-public conversation, Azealia posted her lengthy apology that she sent to the Young Money raptress via Instagram DM. She got straight to the point, retracting and owning up to the “catty s**t” that she previously spat at Nicki and praising her gifts as a female rap artist.

“You have a really brilliant art mind and [oftentimes] remind me a lot of myself,” she wrote. “Now that I’m growing up I’m realizing a lot about what it means to be a strong woman and you’ve showed nothing but strength and perseverance from day one.”

She continued on with her elaborate apology, reminding Nicki that not only does she deserve a Grammy, but she deserves a “rich Russian billionaire to sweep [her] off [her feet] so that [she] never has to consort with these dingy n****s in hip-hop again.”

Azealia also had an explanation for that Safaree controversy, in which the Ice Princess teased a collaboration with Nicki’s former music exec boyfriend while taunting at rumors of his ghostwriting for her.

“Me working with Safaree was not in spite, but because of the never ending pressure the industry puts on us rap girls to be A+,” she explained. “I love your work and only assumed he played a role in your success but after meeting Safaree (who loves you to death) and watching his process I grew to respect you even more.”

In a move we’ve never seen from Azealia before, she then gave Nicki her word that, moving forward, she’ll never hear another insult from Azealia’s mouth again. Perhaps that “little black girl who cries” inside of her, she further detailed, is what helped her turn over a new leaf.

Thankfully, Nicki seemed to accept her peace treaty with a simple, but genuine, reply — a reply that Azealia locked her promise on as well.

“You’re very talented & very smart,” Nicki said. “Focus on what really matters from now on.”

Such a relieving burying of hatchets was enough to bring Azealia to tears, which she confirmed in her caption of the posts.

“Not gonna lie, I cried a bit when she responded,” she said. “#laguardiahighschool #femalerapforthemotherf**kingwin.”
