Erykah Badu Has Slick Words After Being Serenaded By Baby Daddy Jay Electronica
Erykah Badu is the epitome of living your best life, so you’d think being serenaded on a summer afternoon would fall in line with that, right? Well, by the look on the songbird’s face, it was the complete opposite.
On Monday (July 23), the Baduizm soulstress was spotted on Instagram being wooed by rapper Jay Electronica
The Nola native is known for living under the radar, but he seemed to be throwing subtle jabs at his ex. Drake’s “Feel No Ways” served as the background track with the hook potentially giving insight to their relationship, past and present.
“I tried with you/There's more to life than sleeping in and getting high with you/I had to let go of us to show myself what I could do...”
*major side-eye* Due to the nature of that subtle shade, Badu seemed unimpressed by Electronica’s recording. After the video hit the interwebs, she took to the comments demanding the video be taken down. Adding a jokingly jab, “Me and @jayelectronica not even supposed to be in the same place.”
However, her quick-witted ex had an immediate response: “don’t make me come back out there.”
The two ended the video with laughter and seem have a great co-parenting relationship in terms of daughter Mars, so it’s clearly always all love.
