Kanye West Invited To Hold Sunday Service At NYC Strip Club

This comes after Kanye equated strip clubs to sex trafficking.

This past Sunday (Nov. 17), Kanye West touched down in Houston to join famed pastor and televangelist Joel Osteen at his Lakewood Church for his latest Sunday Service experience. The Jesus Is King rapper joined Osteen in the pulpit, where he spoke on re-dedicating his life to Christ.

As Ye was in the pulpit espousing how his Christian-led reformation has changed his way of thinking, he controversially said that he considers strip clubs to be akin to a form of sex trafficking.

  • “They got posters advertising sex trafficking because, if there’s an advertisement for a strip club, that is advertising sex trafficking,” West reportedly told the audience, according to Rolling Out. “At the end of the night, when they close up, the manager says, ‘How much traffic do we have?’”

  • In a direct response to Ye’s latest claims, the team over at NYC’s Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club graciously extended Ye an open invitation on Thursday (Nov. 21) to bring his next ministerial experience to their establishment.

  • "I saw you recently brought your Sunday Service inside Harris County Jail and the Baker Street Jail in Houston. You followed that up by bringing the Sunday Service to Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church and delivered a powerful message in your signature stream of consciousness style, making several...interesting…statements throughout,” Sapphire’s Vice President Andrew Zarian noted in a public letter that was published on the club’s official Twitter account.

  • “Given your affinity for adult entertainment, we wanted to extend you an offer to deliver your free faith-filled concert in a new venue and to a new audience of Gentlemen’s Club entertainers, service staff, and more,” Zarian proposed in the offer letter. “We’d love to open the doors…and have you and your choir grace us with your presence.”

  • Zarian added that he was “serious about making this happen” in the closing address of his message. As of now, Kanye hasn’t responded to the invitation yet thus far. But it's worth noting that Kanye did perform at the first-ever PornHub Awards last year, albeit this was before his recent evangelical re-awakening.

Ye’s busy at the moment preparing to bring his Nebuchadnezzar opera to Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl this coming Sunday, Nov. 24. He also just announced a Jesus Is King sequel with Dr. Dre is in the works, so it might be a minute before Ye can take Sapphire up on its offer.
