The Nelly vs. Ludacris Hilariously Savage IG Battle Reactions We Need In Our Lives
Following Erykah Badu and Jill Scott’s record-setting IG Battle, hundreds of thousands of folks grabbed their virtual seats for Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s next Verzuz offering: Nelly vs. Ludacris.
The two rap legends took over Instagram Live this past Saturday (May 16), taking us back to 20 of their biggest hits from each of their catalogs from the early 2000s. Luda even gave us a preview of two new tracks. Come Saturday, longtime fans were ready to bust out their jerseys and air force ones for the night’s epic battle.
However, instead of a nostalgic trip down memory, viewers were hit with unpleasant flashbacks to Teddy Riley and Babyface’s first match that needed to be rescheduled due to technical issues. From the get-go, Nelly was having problems with his Wi-Fi causing his livestream to lag, even outright freeze at some points, while his audio would periodically cut in and out.
“They saying your WiFi needs some milk,” Luda joked before Nelly shared that a bad thunderstorm had rolled over his hometown of St. Louis.
The St. Lunatic frontman issued an apology to Luda and thanked him for his patience, saying “I want this to be as epic as me and you can make it.” Unfortunately, things did not improve but the two carried on nonetheless. Even Teddy Riley slid into the comments with an “lol” in response to the situation.
