Harvard Black Men's Forum Names Jada Pinkett-Smith "Woman of the Year"

The actress was recognized for her "trailblazing professional success."

On Saturday, the Harvard Black Men's Forum recognized Jada Pinkett-Smith during its 18th annual Celebration of Black Women at Leverett House in Cambridge, MA. The actress was named "Woman of the Year" during the event for her "trailblazing professional success" and the charity work she's done with her husband, Will.
“I’ve strived to show that we can be and do anything that we want,” she said after accepting the award and explaining how she wants to prove to other black women that they can do it all. Instead of giving a speech, Pinkett-Smith opened the floor to allow students to ask her questions and talked about her career, role models, family values and how to balance work and family.
“She did a great job,” event attendee Cheta G. Emba said. “She offered a lot of encouragement and tips for how Black women and women can make the most of the opportunities they are presented with. It was awesome."
