Report: A$AP Yams Died of Accidental Overdose

A$AP Mob co-founder’s death was caused by "acute mixed drug intoxication.”

The death of A$AP Yams, a founding member of A$AP Mob, has been ruled an accident by New York City's chief medical examiner.

According to reports from several media outlets, Yams (real name Steven Rodriguez) died from "acute mixed drug intoxication” after taking a cocktail of drugs that included opiates and benzodiazepine. Speculation as to the cause of Yams’s death circulated soon after he was found unresponsive in his New York apartment on January 18. Many suspected drugs were involved given his noted battle with an addiction to codeine and Xanax.
