Ray McDonald's Ex-Fiancée Says He Repeatedly Attacked Her

Woman claims NFL star once put knee to her stomach while pregnant.

As the days go by, Ray McDonald continues to rack up uncool points.

A week after being arrested on domestic violence and child endangerment charges, a San Jose Mercury News report reveals accusations from McDonald's ex-fiancée that are quite startling. The 27-year-old woman told the newspaper that once they got engaged in February 2014, McDonald began a pattern of "verbal abuse and controlling behavior" that escalated into "full attacks," including him allegedly choking her and putting his knee to her stomach while she was pregnant.

"I was ashamed to tell friends and family," the woman told the Mercury News. "I hoped he would change. He changed some, but he began drinking again so he moved out."

A return to the NFL for McDonald looks doubtful. His troubles began with an arrest for domestic violence last November and led to his release from the San Francisco 49ers in December. The Bears gave him a chance, but McDonald blew that opportunity when he was jailed for domestic violence in late May. The Bears cut the defensive lineman and he foolishly was arrested again for violating the restraining order against him days later.
