We’re only 10 days into Black History Month and racism proves to be alive and well.
Today’s clear example actually comes from an interracial couple. Los Angeles Charger Jahleel Addae and his fiancé Lindsey Nelson are receiving criticism for a post Lindsey made on her Instagram story.
While at a restaurant, Addae, Nelson and other interracial couples all made a toast. To what? They’re all heard saying, To “more light skinned kids.” Nelson also captioned her story post with the toast just to make sure you didn’t misinterpret their colorism.
After the post, Jahleel made his Instagram private, so he most likely felt the Internet backlash. Below is what some people had to say.
It behooves me that cotton mouth insecure/threatened caucasian women act as if they found the Holy Grail in their "black men"...that Black women would NEVER want to be with anyway....🤔🙄😁😂 #JahleelAddae #youcanhavehim— a.k.a. DARTS (@4realPisces) February 10, 2019
I said it before, and I'll say it again most Black people who date outside their race have a deep seeded resentment toward other Black people.#jahleeladdae— j (@1bigyungsta8) February 10, 2019
SMH. That's how they really feel? Sad.
