Vanessa Williams is baaaack. And this time, with the help of her 16-year-old daughter Sasha Fox, the duo is telling the world how they keep their skin clean, clear and red carpet ready.

What’s their secret? Proactiv. Seems simple enough, but when you find something that works for your acne, that dedication is real.

Now you might not remember this, but Williams and her brother were spokespeople for the skin care brand back in 2002. And now some 14 years later, the award-winning actress is excited to be back. And Fox is excited too, given that, like her mother, she also has struggled with acne.

“People noticed a difference about the way I present myself. I always tell them that it's because of Proactiv,” Fox said in a statement.

“When someone compliments me on my skin, I know that the time and effort I put into taking care of my acne has paid off. It makes me feel really, really good about myself,” she added.

And for those who have suffered from problem skin, you know that it can take a toll on your self-esteem, especially when you’re a teenager.

“We both started getting acne in middle school, which can be a rough time for most kids,” recalls Williams. “The added stress of breakouts was hard for me and I saw that it was beginning to affect Sasha too.”

So when Williams saw that her daughter was struggling, she knew exactly what would help: Proactiv's three-step kit.

Over the next few months, expect the mother-daughter campaign to roll out with a mix of classic Proactiv commercials, online videos and social media posts focusing on how parents and kids can talk about acne.
