As you may already know, today marks the 16-year anniversary of the death of everyone’s favorite songstress (a.k.a. babygirl), Aaliyah Haughton.
She leaves behind a legacy of iconic songs, trend-setting style, and a beautiful connection to her fans, and many are celebrating her short-lived life by reminiscing on their favorite Aaliyah songs.
Much to our surprise, yesterday MAC Cosmetics revealed it will be honoring the late singer with an official MAC Aaliyah collection scheduled to launch in 2018.
Consider us shook! Rumors have been swirling for years regarding this — but looks like the Change.org petition signed by 26,000+ Aaliyah fans and supporters finally moved the needle.
Social media instantly erupted with excitement and the hashtag #AaliyahforMAC was flooding Twitter:
Looks like everyone is ready for this new collection! #BlackGirlMagic is real!
However, one fan did ask a valid question:
What are your thoughts — are you excited for new collab?
