Carmelo Anthony has taken his talents off the court.
The NBA All-Star and newly appointed Houston Rocket's player launched an ongoing partnership with a few of his favorite brands. Carmelo launched MELO MADE, the first of many collaborations of ready-to-wear and accessories with brands such as Rag & Bone, Jordan Brand, Rochambeau, Goorin Bros. and Famous Nobody's, a unisex clothing line created by Christian Vazquez, La La Anthony’s brother.
Although Fashion week officially ended the day before Melo’s Interactive presentation, the collections and the event were nothing short of amazing. There was a live band, custom made specialty cocktails, an old school convertible car, a library and a slew of other things to set the mood.
According to WWD Carmelo said, “It was imperative we created authentic pieces, representative of each brand’s unique DNA and my style,” he said “My name is on it, so I want it to reflect who I am, what I am, what I am thinking, and my vision of fashion at this point in time.”
The first capsule to drop will be the Rag&Bone x Jordan brand sneakers and 5-piece collection. From there, the other collabs will drop once per month.
Carmelo had a ton of support with the launch of his new venture. Including his estranged wife, La La Anthony, Houston Rockets teammate James Harden, and other basketball friends such as, Tim Hardaway Jr., P.J. Tucker, Tyrone Nash and Chris Brickley.
Melo’s goal is to collaborate with different designers every fashion week to continue to offer a monthly drop of dope pieces. Cheer's to Carmelo and his team for thinking out side of tge box with these capsules.
