Foster Mom Taped Pacifier to Baby’s Mouth
A 30-year-old foster mother in Georgia was arrested Wednesday on charges that she killed a 9-month-old boy by taping a pacifier to his mouth to keep him quiet.
It was Angela Dukes’ first day caring for the child on Feb. 8 when she performed her fateful act, according to Jennifer Timmons of the Georgia Law Enforcement Division.
Dukes, a neonatal nurse, was trying to hush the crying baby and ended up blocking his breathing. Timmons says Dukes was charged with felony unlawful conduct toward a child. She is in the Richland County jail awaiting a bond hearing.
