Beyoncé Says Mom Taught Her Humility

Piers Morgan interviewed Bey.

Beyoncé says she's learned humility from her mother, and her strong hand.

The singer sat down with CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" for an hour interview in London on Monday (June 27). During the chat, Morgan asked Beyoncé whether she's ever disagreed with her mother and the international star took viewers back to her childhood when she thought she was "hot."

"I remember when we [Destiny's Child] first had our record on the radio and we were in a record store and I started singing …. I thought I was hot and she smacked the crap out of me and sent me to the car," Beyoncé recalled, with a laugh. "She said 'I don't care what song you have on the radio, you are still on my child and you will respect me.' I never forgot that."

The "Run The World" performer also relished in her biggest moments, including singing "At Last" for United States President and First Lady Obama on Inauguration Night in 2009.

"I'm very emotional and it was really powerful and overwhelming," Beyoncé said of the monumental evening and her reaction. " 'This is not about you, you have to do this for history.' I wanted to ball and stare and watch. I can't believe I was there and it was my voice for that moment."

Beyoncé's fourth album 4 hits shelves June 28.
