Issa Rae, Mary J. Blige, Anthony Anderson And More Nab 2018 Golden Globe Nominations

See who else was recognized.

Awards season is well under way, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the list of nominees for the second-biggest event of the season: the 2018 Golden Globe Awards.

With 25 categories to fill — 14 for movies and 11 for television — the Association singled out the most acclaimed and buzzworthy performances and projects of the year, including Issa Rae, Anthony Anderson, Mary J. Blige, This Is Us, Get Out, and several others.

Several series led by minority actors have been recognized in the categories of Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical (Black-ish and Master of None) and Best TV Series, Drama (This Is Us).

Some of the best talent in primetime television and the streaming series front have also been recognized for their work including Ms. Rae (Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie/Insecure), Anthony Anderson and Aziz Ansari (Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical/Black-ish and Master of None) and Sterling K. Brown (Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical/This Is Us.)

Mary J. Blige, Octavia SpencerDaniel Kaluuya and Denzel Washington also snagged nominations for their performances in their respective films Mudbound, The Shape of WaterGet Out and Roman J. Israel, Esq.

Mexican film director Guillermo Del Toro was also recognized for his work on the motion picture The Shape of Water.

The 75th annual Golden Globe Awards, set to be hosted by Seth Meyers, will air live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel's Grand Ballroom on January 7 on NBC.
