Somebody Call Karen: Gabrielle Union Brought This Random-Ass Side Dish To One Of Prince's Parties And He Refused To Try It

She swears she had a good reason.

Music legend, Prince always lived an ultra private lifestyle. Since his death, many of his celebrity friends have come forward with bits and pieces about the elusive man behind the iconic music. Most recently, actress Gabrielle Union opened up about attending one of Prince's legendary parties, and the unlikely thing she brought along with her.

During a recent appearance on Bravo's' Watch What Happens Live, Union opened about up about bring a regional treat along with her. "We're both from the Midwest, who doesn’t love a tuna casserole? He loves it. He’s a Midwest guy. If you’re not from the Midwest maybe you don’t understand the love and the lure of a tuna casserole but Prince did," she said.

While he may have undersood the lure of tuna, the crooner didn't indulge. A long time vegetarian, Prince adopted veganism and even sang about it on his 2006 track, "Animal Kingdom."

"No member of the animal kingdom nurses past maturity / No member of the animal kingdom ever did a thing to me / It’s why I don’t eat red meat or white fish / Don’t give me no blue cheese / We’re all members of the animal kingdom / Leave your brothers and sisters in the sea," he sang.

Union went on to share how food dishes were the only thing she could bring along with her to Prince's parties. "You would just get the address, and had to hope that whoever you went out to that event with also got a text because you could not bring a plus-one.. We tried it once; it didn’t end well."

Welp, showing up with casserole is better than showing up empty-handed, right?
