[Tragedy] A 2-Year-Old’s Life Was Forever Changed When His Mother’s Life Was Ended by a Gun Shot

Patrice Price was killed by a single bullet to her back.

A young mother-of-three is dead after her toddler found a gun in the backseat of the car she was driving.

Patrice Price was shot in the back Tuesday morning while driving along Wisconsin Highway 175 in Milwaukee after her 2-year-old son fired the gun he’d found, killing her.

The car and the gun belonged to the 26-year-old woman’s boyfriend, who worked as a security guard and allegedly left the firearm in the back seat of the vehicle.

After deputies found her without a pulse and not breathing, they tried to revive her with CPR until the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived, but Price was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10:30 a.m.

“Initial witness accounts indicate that a child in the back seat of the vehicle got a hold of a gun and discharged the firearm, sending a single bullet into the driver’s back,” the Milwaukee police department said in a statement.

“Now I don’t have her no more,” said Andre Price, Patrice’s father, who described his daughter as a hard-working mother. “I have a knot in my chest. They won’t even let me see my daughter. I wanted to hold my daughter for one last time.”

No further details on the 2-year-old or Price’s other two children have been released. Additionally, her boyfriend’s name has yet to be revealed and it’s unclear whether he will face charges.

The MCSO investigation into the death is on-going,” the police department stated.
