Island Boys’ Distance Themselves From Friend Charged In Shooting Of 8-year-old

Flyysoulja says he refused to hide his friend's gun after the home was raided.

After reports that the Island Boys' Florida home was raided Monday (Feb. 7), leading to the arrest of Andrew James Thomas, who is a suspect in the killing of an 8-year-old, the viral TikTok stars are now publicly speaking out against gun and gang violence.

One half of the Island Boys’ duo, Alex Venegas, otherwise known as Flyysoulja, is talking to TMZ Thursday (Feb. 10), and says he’s “doing all he can to make amends with the family … after finding out his friend is suspected of killing the little girl,” the publication reports.

Flyysoulja went on to tell TMZ that he was completely unaware of Thomas’ alleged involvement and that the news “came as a total shock”. The Florida native also told officers that he refused to help Thomas when he urged him to hide a gun.

Thomas ended up getting booked for gun possession, violation of probation for a separate robbery case, and first-degree murder for the deadly drive-by shooting of the child. Flyysoulja tells TMZ that the incident especially hits home for the group because he has a daughter so, “the fact a little girl was killed in the drive-by has really shaken and inspired him to get more vocal about preventing gang violence.”

WBPF reports that 8-year-old, Ronziyah Atkins, was killed on Friday (Feb. 4). A GoFundMe has been created in his memory.
