Is This The Real Reason Jennifer Hudson Dropped Her Restraining Order Against Her Ex?

David Otunga's reps speak out.

Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga seemed to have reached an agreement, at least temporarily, when the Oscar-winning actress dropped the protective order against her ex-fiancé. The former I Love New York star's people, however, believe there's a reason she took this approach.

According to TMZ, Otunga's reps believe she dropped the order so she could avoid being grilled in the courtroom about the alleged abuse she endured during their relationship, which the former wrestler has firmly denied. The actress claimed that she was in fear for her "physical and emotional safety and that of my son."

Sources close to Otunga reportedly do not believe that Hudson was being generous or was considering their son's best interests when she dropped the protective order. They reportedly claimed that if she didn't, she would be required to appear in court to testify under oath to what she stated in the court docs.

Otunga has remained adamant that he has not behaved threateningly towards Hudson or their son, David Jr., and sources close to him add that she is aware of this, and purposefully dodged attempting to backup her claims on the stand.

A source close to the Dreamgirls star told TMZ that she would "have no issue testifying in court because she has witnesses to back up her account of the altercation that went down the night before she filed the order of protection."

The insider went on to mention that she would, in no way, purposefully make up such a claim.
