It’s been a long time coming, but finally, we have a look at Season 3 for FX and Donald Glover’s wildly popular show, Atlanta.
Making its return after three years on Mar. 24, the network gave longtime fans a memorable Christmas gift in the form of a teaser trailer, which finds the series and its characters in Europe.
“We are thrilled to have ‘Atlanta’ back with a new season on March 24th,” said Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment in a statement. “Once again, Donald Glover, the producers, and stellar cast have delivered another signature season synonymous with the excellence that makes ‘Atlanta’ so great.”

Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Earn (Glover), his cousin Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Van (Zazie Beetz) are in the midst of a successful tour, and must now struggle to adjust to being outsiders and navigate the newfound blessings they had aspired to.
This is great news for the show, as production was initially delayed due to Glover’s busy schedule and, unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic. However, those delays gave Glover and his writers’ room the space to pen episodes not only for the third season but the fourth season as well.

Production on both seasons began earlier this year in places such as London, Paris, and Amsterdam.
The last season of the imaginative series earned 14 Emmy nominations, the most of any comedy series, and took home three. Glover, who over the course of the show’s history retired the Childish Gambino moniker, previously won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for the first season of Atlanta.
Thankfully, the series is set to premiere with two episodes on Mar. 24, 2022. Until then, enjoy this Christmas gift and watch the first teaser trailer for Atlanta Season 3, below.
