Report: Angela Simmons And Her Ex-Fiancé Were Involved In Custody Battle Days Before His Death

Sutton Tennyson was tragically murdered in his home on Saturday.

It was recently reported that Angela Simmons' ex-fiancé, Sutton Tennyson, was fatally shot in his home this past Saturday.

Now, days after his death was confirmed, new reports indicate that the two were in the midst of a custody battle mere days before the incident that led to his fate.

According to Page Six, on October 30, just four days before Tennyson was murdered in a drive-by shooting, the former couple was in Manhattan Family Court, with Simmons allegedly requesting an increase in his monthly child support payments.

"It wasn't lovey dovey, there's a reason people go to court," a source told the site.

The late Tennyson was reportedly paying "around $1,250" a month in child support, the site stated, but Simmons wanted more.

This comes some four months after she received temporary custody of their toddler son, Sutton Jr., in July, after filing for an order of protection against Tennyson, back in December, 2017.

The site further reports that, before his untimely passing, Tennyson was preparing a bid for joint custody "while enjoying nightly FaceTime with his son."

"He tried hard to be in the child's life," the insider continued, with Tennyson's attorney, Daniel Nottes, noting, "It's devastating to hear about this tragedy. Mr. Tennyson was a loving father. It's very sad his son will grow up without him."

Simmons' lawyer, Daniel Lipschutz, declined to comment.
