Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Calls Out Body-Shaming and 'Racist' Comments

The tennis icon was insulted by Ion Țiriac.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian is speaking out after offensive comments were made about her body by another tennis player.

According to Ubitennis, 81-year-old Romanian tennis player Ion Țiriac, who also owns the Madrid Open tennis tournament, said on a Romanian television channel, "At this age and the weight she is now, she does not move as easily as she did 15 years ago. Serena was a sensational player. If she had a little decency, she would retire. From all points of view."

On Jan. 3, a tennis reporter tweeted about the comments, writing, "Safe to say Serena will never play Madrid again.”

The 37-year-old Ohanian responded with, "Safe to say no one gives a damn what Ion Țiriac thinks."
