Woman Wants Juanita Bynum's Ex-Husband Jailed

Could the ex-husband of televangelist Juanita Bynum be heading to jail? The answer is “yes” … if a former employee of Global Destiny Church has her way.

The ex-employee, Suzanne Ellis, has asked a Gwinnett judge to lock up Thomas Weeks, the founder of Global Destiny Inc. and TWIII Ministries, arguing that the preacher has failed to reimburse her for about $90,000 in items he asked her to purchase for the church.

After Ellis sued Weeks for repayment and attorney’s fees last year, Week’s attorneys agreed on a payment plan to reconcile the debt. Weeks has failed to meet the terms, according to Ellis.

In August 2007, Weeks was charged with kicking, stomping and choking Bynum in the parking lot of an Atlanta hotel. Bynum, a gospel singer, author and preacher of renown, divorced Weeks following the very public beating and subsequent brouhaha.

The judge has not scheduled a hearing to determine whether Weeks is in contempt for failing to honor the agreement.
