BET Awards 2022: 5 of the Hottest Songs From 2021 ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist’ Winner Lil Baby

What are some of your favorite hits from the Grammy Award-winning rapper?

Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Baby hit the ground running following the release of his 2017 mixtape Perfect Timing, a title fit for the Atlanta-based emcee who initially held no desire to become a rap star.  However, after taking the suggestion of Quality Control Records founder Kevin “Coach K” Lee, and going under the guidance of fellow Atlanta artists Young Thug and Gunna, Baby cultivated a sound that has since dominated the charts.

Baby’s musical contributions have earned him the respect of his peers and industry veterans alike, with plenty of accolades. During the BET Awards 2021, the “Drip Too Hard” rapper earned three nominations, including “Best Collaboration” for his part in Pop Smoke’s single “For the Night,” also featuring DaBaby. He also took home one of the most significant awards of the night, “Best Male Hip Hop Artist.”

Ahead of the BET Awards 2022, we’re looking back at some of the hottest tracks from last year’s “Best Male Hip Hop Artist” winner Lil Baby.

  • “Drip Too Hard” Ft. Gunna

Baby and his purported mentor and fellow rapper Gunna linked up for this 2018 single “Drip Too Hard” off their collaborative album Drip Harder. The guitar-sampled track peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Baby his third highest-charting record.

  • “Baby” Ft. DaBaby

It’s baby, on baby in this 2019 song featuring Lil Baby and DaBaby. The pair performed this sizzling single at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. The music video was inspired by the 1983 crime drama Scarface.

  • “Yes Indeed” Ft. Drake

Baby tapped Canadian-born rap star Drake for a track titled “Yes Indeed,” the second single off his 2018 debut album Harder Than Ever. The record reached number one on Billboard's Streaming Songs chart and six on the US Billboard Hot 100.

  • “Do We Have a Problem” Ft. Nicki Minaj

Released in February 2022, “Do We Have a Problem” is the latest collaborative effort from the 27-year-old and Queens native Nicki Minaj. The track was accompanied by a 9-minute video inspired by Angelina Jolie’s 2010 film “Salt.” It was directed by Benny Boom and featured actors Cory Hardrict and “Power” star Joseph Sikora.

  • “On Me”

Baby released the single “On Me”  on December 4, 2020, just one day after his 26th birthday. He announced a remix featuring Houston native, Megan Thee Stallion a few months later.
