Drake Files Request For Assault Trial To Be Pushed Back To February 2021

The OVO honcho is a part of a lawsuit over an alleged 2018 assault at a nightclub.

Drake is busy gearing up for the release of his anticipated followup to 2018’s Scorpion, but the OVO honcho might have to put a halt to his plans.

  • He has reportedly filed a motion requesting for his assault trial to be pushed back until February 2021 at the earliest, The Blast reports.  He was originally supposed to appear in court on July 21, 2020 but is asking to have his trial delayed due to upcoming “professional commitments all over the world,” per The Blast

NFL player Odell Beckham Jr., who is also a co-defendant on the case, is asking to have his trial pushed back as well. He put forth that he will be unavailable until sometime around mid-February in 2021 due to “professional commitments tied to his football season” this summer, according to The Blast

  • Last year, Drizzy and OBJ found themselves attached to the lawsuit after the men were sued with Younes Bendjima over an alleged assault that took place at a Los Angeles nightclub, according to The Blast. All three were sued by a man named Benett Snipes, who accused them of assaulting him at the Delilah nightclub in March of 2018. Snipes alleged that Bendjima, along with members of Drake and Beckham’s entourage, kicked, pushed, and shoved him “in the face and body,” according to The Blast. A video showing a portion of the altercation made rounds on the internet, showing Drizzy and OBJ on scene of the incident, but not physically involved.

Both men have denied the claims made against them
