Twin Brothers Could Be First in Nation To Be Sentenced to Death

If Dante and Donte Hall are convicted and condemned to die for the robbery and murder of two people at a Eustis, Fla., house party three years ago, they could be the first pair of twins on Florida’s death row.

I've heard of brothers [on death row], and I've heard of fathers and sons, but not twins. Never," Richard Dieter, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, told the Orlando Sentinel. "That would be bizarre, I'd say, and most probably a first.

The identical duo are accused of shooting to death Anthony Bernard Blount, 35, and Kison "Little Mule" Evans, 32.

Donte was convicted in April by a separate jury, which voted 8-4 to sentence him to death. (The judge is now bound by the jury recommendation, but he must give it “great weight,” the Sentinel reports.) Dante’s double-murder trial is now underway, and his defense attorneys argue that the homicides were committed by "Donte's crew.
