Mariah Carey And Other Celebrities Targeted In Series Of Atlanta Burglaries

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has charged 26 people.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is cracking down on burglaries in the Atlanta area.

According to WBRC, Mariah Carey,  Atlanta Falcons’ Calvin Ridley, and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton are just a few of the celebrities who have been targeted.

“What they do is target people who show their wealth on social media,” Willis said. “So I do have a message for the public: Where it is kind of fun to put your things on social media and show off, unfortunately these gangs are becoming more savvy, more sophisticated in the way that they target you.”

She continued,” If you thought Fulton was a good county to bring your crime to, to bring your violence to, you are wrong and you are going suffer consequences and today is the start of some of those consequences.”

The 220-count indictment, filed Aug. 22, charges 26 people with carjacking, kidnapping, armed robbery, shootings, home invasions and more. The suspects are reportedly part of the Drug Rich gang and accused of violating Georgia’s anti-gang and racketeering laws.

The most high-profile burglary was Mariah Carey. According to Page Six, while she was vacationing in Italy and the Hamptons in July with boyfriend Bryan Tanaka and her two children, her home in Atlanta was burglarized.

Carey reportedly bought the $5.65 million dollar mansion in November 2021, which includes  nine bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, pool, tennis court and playground. She was posting on social media while she was on vacation.

Mariah Carey has not made a public statement on the burglary.
