A$AP Rocky Kicks Off 2026 as the First Musical Guest on SNL

The Harlem rapper is back on the ‘Saturday Night Live’ stage the day after dropping his fourth album, ‘Don’t Be Dumb,’ giving fans a first look at new tracks live.

It’s official: A$AP Rocky is set to be the first musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” when the show returns on January 17, 2026. The announcement was made during the December 20 episode, which featured Cher as the performer and Ariana Grande as the host. Rocky will take the stage the day after the release of his fourth album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” so fans will get to hear some new tracks live during the episode, which will be hosted by Finn Wolfhard from “Stranger Things.”

This won’t be his first time on the legendary sketch comedy show either. The Grammy-nominated rapper made his debut in May 2018, with Donald Glover hosting a sketch about creating a rap group with his friends Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson, similar to Migos. After the group left a studio session, they ran into A$AP Rocky in the waiting room. Fast forward to now, and Rocky is stepping back onto the “SNL” stage with a lot more to show, especially with a new project dropping.

The Harlem rapper gave a release date for “Don’t Be Dumb” along with album covers on social media on December 19, captioned: “JANUARY 16, 2026 DON’T BE DUMB VINYLS, CDs, CASSETTES, AND DIGITAL DSPs AVAILABLE, THANKS TO EVERY CREATIVE AND MUSICIAN WHO HELPED ME WITH THIS MASTERPIECE.” So far, we know it’s a double-disc album: 15 songs on disc one and two songs on disc two. Full tracklist and collaborations haven’t been revealed yet, but fans are already speculating which songs he’ll debut on “SNL”.

Dropping an album one day and performing it live the next? That’s the ultimate flex. Rocky’s letting fans get a first look at “Don’t Be Dumb,” and this could be one of his biggest projects yet.
