Photo Of Kobe Getting A Warm "Welcome to the Club" From Denzel After His Oscar Win

The "Dear Basketball" creator was all smiles after getting his golden statue.

UPDATE:

After winning his Oscar for his animated short, Dear BasketballKobe Bryant and Denzel Washington cheerfully posed in a two-winners-one-statue-themed photo. 

Bryant's wife, Vanessa Bryant, shared the same photo to her Instagram page with the caption, "When Denzel said 'Welcome to the club.' Just #Wow."

Although Vanessa's page is private, the image and caption were re-shared by The Shade Room.

  • “Dear Basketball” is based on a 2015 poem Bryant wrote when he announced his retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant and Williams have reportedly been friends since 2008 when the five-time NBA champion reached out to the composer about his process.
