Garcelle Beauvais Reacts To Backlash Over Her Birthday Message To Will Smith
Garcelle Beauvais recently became a trending topic on social media when her seemingly suggestive birthday greeting to Will Smith fell flat.
Now, after being dragged across social media, the actress has returned to the source to clarify her intentions when she made the initial post.
The actress, who played Fancy on The Jamie Foxx Show, posted a photo from a project she and Smith worked on in the past which showed them sharing a kiss. She captioned the picture, "A birthday kiss for the birthday boy #willsmith happy 50th."
After a fan jokingly suggested that she delete the post as it would likely incite a social media eruption, she responded with the words, "Bring it lol."
After Twitter lit her ablaze, she took to the platform once more to stress that she meant well with her post and specified that she intended on it being an innocent joke.
She later apologized for the post before urging folks to "lighten up."
