Paula Patton Declares She’s Single and Thriving Ahead of New Film Premiere

The actress is embracing her 'Hot Single Summer' with confidence, clarity, and a fresh outlook on love and self-worth.

Paula Patton is having a ‘Hot Single Summer.’

The 49-year-old spoke with People and revealed her relationship status after playing coy when asked.

“I'm not telling you that,” the “Just Wright” star laughed after being asked if she has a partner.

“I'm going to be honest, I am a single woman. God has your king for you, and you just have to go about your life enjoying every moment. Don't wait on anything or anybody. Just trust and know that when the right person comes, it will be.”

She continued, “I think we get caught up in fear, or worried about being alone, and then you make choices that are not great choices, instead of just like, trusting, it's all gonna work out, and then you don't have to chase anything.”

Patton is gearing up for her latest film, “Finding Faith,” to which she thanks the film for helping her find forgiveness in regards to her sobriety journey.

“It was scary…When I was doing it, though, what was kind of incredible was that I was able to forgive myself for the first time genuinely,” she confessed.

Back in July, she told the outlet how she felt connected to her character in the film.

“This woman deals with addiction, and I’ve been sober for 7 years. I knew what it was like,” she told the outlet.

“When I was doing it though, what was kind of incredible was that I was able to forgive myself for the first time, genuinely,” she explains. “Because even as I had been through this healing journey, I had still been like ‘God, how did you do that, why didn’t you do this? You should’ve done it like that.’ You know? And somehow playing Faith and going through it, I realized that I did the best I could at that time,” she says. “I didn't have the tools. I didn’t know. And I was just able to forgive myself.”

Her film, “Finding Faith,” premieres Saturday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
