See Why The Rihanna Navy Is Dragging Kylie Cosmetics

It's simple—Kylie's brand just doesn't have the range!

Is it just us, or has the beauty sphere seen a severe uptick in spats lately?

With the recent introduction of two major players in the beauty industry in the form of Rihanna and Kim Kardashian West, competition for the best celeb-adjacent line has grown stiff. And as a result, tensions have risen. The latest dramz to hit the interwebs?

Rihanna's Navy dragging Kylie Cosmetics to the high heavens.


RiRi officially entered the game last week with her launch of Fenty Beauty on Friday — and she did not do so quietly. She introduced a whopping 40-shade foundation line in her inaugural drop to the excitement of many who have felt shafted by the beauty industry for far too long. 

And with the news that all of Rih's darkest shades were #SoldAWT across the country, competing brands were left shook. (P.S. We will not discontinue our use of the Anti World Tour hashtag anytime soon, sorry!) Soon after Monday's drop, social media saw an increase in beauty brands promoting their "diverse" and "inclusive" shades. Where were y'all on Friday, though? But we digress. 

One of the brands that fastidiously socialed out dark makeup hues at the mere mention of the Fenty Drop was none other than Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics. RiRi's Navy, though, was not here for it!

Kylie Cosmetics promoted its "Brown Sugar" liquid lip gloss — what they describe as “the perfect nude for deeper skin tones” — five times this weekend. The shade, thought to be Kylie's only color meant for POCs, was released a year ago, but KyCo mysteriously made it available for purchase again last week. Interesting timing...

In one of the five social promos for the product, a now-deleted tweet seemed to provoke the most responses from the Navy's most dedicated members, as you can see above. The sheer volume of GIFs of Rihanna looking unimpressed (widely available on the World Wide Web) only makes these drags that much better.

Kylie, you've done amazing, raking in $420 million in KyCo sales in less than two years, sweetie. But Rihanna's beauty line has now arrived, so that's your cue to sell your company and ca$h out! Sorry girl, you just don't have the range!

With premiere quality, fair prices, and availability at Sephora, there's just literally no reason to opt for KyCo over Fenty. Rihanna has just begun her disruption and domination of the beauty industry. We can't wait to see how her line evolves in the time to come.
