"The greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th."

Published March 9, 2017

Twenty years ago today (March 9), the world tragically lost a legend who would later go on to inspire and influence an immeasurable amount of musicians and still be fondly remembered as an innovator two decades later.

In memory of the iconic emcee fondly known as the Notorious B.I.G., many took to social media to reflect on his legacy, with those lucky enough to have met or worked with him reminiscing on the good ol' days.

While Diddy, who is credited with first discovering Biggie and signing him to Bad Boy Records, began a social media campaign by launching the hashtag #WeMissYouBIG and inspiring fans to share their favorite verses, others got nostalgic by reposting photos of the rapper from the archives. Considering the fact that "the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th," it's no surprise Instagram and Twitter are overflowing with memories today.

Take a look at how Nas, Missy Elliott, DJ Premier, Questlove and more are putting some much deserved respek on the Notorious B.I.G.'s name in the posts below.
