Bronx’s breakout rap star Cardi B and MMG emcee Meek Mill have gotten fairly close (professionally, everyone) since Cardi’s golden year in 2017. From flicking up candids together and Cardi borrowing influence from the “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)” rapper for her own debut album, we’d safely assume that the two are getting even closer to working together on-wax soon enough.
According to TMZ, such day has arrived in 2018. The site reports that sources claim the two have been cooking up in the studio and even have some hooks and verses prepped for the mystery track. Allegedly, the collaboration was months in the making too. Their common interest for a banger is already making its buzz too, TMZ adds, as “sources also say the content Cardi and Meek recorded has the potential to be a huge hit.”
The pair also share one common denominator that’s of high interest and concern for fans as well: Nicki Minaj, Meek’s former girlfriend, and Cardi’s current rap nemesis. And they’re hurling 280-characters, GIFs and anything else they can find across the Twitterverse amid the news that some are deeming a petty attack on the Queen rapstress.
