During Kanye West’s IMAX premiere of his Jesus is King film and tease of its accompanying soundscape, fans couldn’t help but notice that the highly-anticipated track, “New Body,” did not feature the Megatron artist and newlywed, Nicki Minaj.

🔊 Sound on! _____________________________________ Earlier this week, #NickiMinaj dropped her highly anticipated #Fendi collection, and we were right there celebrating with her as she commemorated this new milestone that has all of the fashion industry talking. Aside from that, we sat down with Nicki and had an exclusive interview where we talked about what inspired the collection. As well as her upcoming nuptials to her man #KennethPetty, whether or not she’s really retiring, other artists she would love to collaborate with and much more. _____________________________________ If you’re like us, then you’ve been counting down the days since Nicki and Kenneth obtained their marriage license, as we wait for them to officially say their “I Do’s.” Nicki talked to us about their upcoming nuptials and whether or not they’re going to have a big wedding. _____________________________________ She said, “We’ll definitely do the paperwork portion of the marriage, but the actual wedding, I don’t know. You know when you’re a little girl and you want this big beautiful wedding, and I used to think I was one of those girls, I always wanted the fairytale. Later explaining that the new direction of Ye’s album created a back and forth between the two. “I done wrote three different verses chile, and I don’t know. We ain’t seeing eye to eye on it. I don’t know, but of course, I love and respect Kanye and Kim, we’ll see what happens with that.”

According to Complex, “New Body” was supposed to face the issues of slut-shaming and body-shaming, up close and personal. Genius also reports that during an October 2018 TV appearance in Uganda, Yeezy dropped knowledge to explain what the original version was about.

  3. “This concept is a ‘Ye concept. I’m taking two stigmas at once because I love taking stigmas and flipping them to positive. Negative energy to a positive. One of the stigmas is that men, the more people we sleep with the higher our score goes. With a woman, the more people they sleep with, people they sleep with, people consider that to be, the lower their score goes.”

With Kanye now walking a straight and narrow path uplifted by Jesus, the original rendition of the Nicki feature might not fit the bill. But knowing what we do know about the latest gospel guru, fans could hear a brand new version of “New Body” for the ultimate unveiling of Jesus is King.
