21 Savage Has Reportedly Been Blocked From Traveling Outside Of The US
21 Savage’s struggle with his pending immigration case continues as his current citizenship status sits in legal limbo. The Atlanta artist’s career was nearly brought to a halt after he was detained by ICE to be deported back to London amid an expired visa this past February.
Although 21 was released on a $100,000 bond one week later, the Atlanta-bred rapper has still been caught up in the bureaucratic teeth of the American court system and, unfortunately, to the detriment of his career.
The “a lot” rapper has reportedly tried to resolve the case to no avail, and it seems he still has a long road ahead of him. According to Billboard, he was scheduled to appear in court on April 9, but the hearing was postponed and was not rescheduled. According to a new report from TMZ, Savage still hasn’t been given a court date to settle his immigration case.
According to the outlet’s sources, the courts in Atlanta are also bogged down with a backlog of cases dating up to 2022. Thus, it could be a while before Savage gets his day in court to fight against his deportation. It was only recently that Savage received a permit to work in the U.S., which was something he was trying to secure for the last eight months, according to TMZ.
Furthermore, the government has also reportedly forbade Savage, who has been living in the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant since 2005, from leaving the country until the case is fully resolved. Unfortunately, this means he won’t be able to accept any gigs outside of the U.S. either.
