Another holiday season is here, and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” rules supreme.
Billboard reports that her 1994 Christmas anthem has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. This is its fourth total week on top of the Hot 100, tying for having the most time at No. 1 of holiday hits throughout the chart’s history.
The track drew 31.4 million streams and sold 7,000 downloads during the week ending Dec. 10. In total, the song has pulled in one billion on-demand streams and 4.1 billion in “total radio audience.”
Carey took to Twitter and posted her appreciation for the achievement. “Wow! I truly wasn’t expecting this at all !! Enterally grateful for the enduring success of this song,” she wrote. “I don’t want a lot for Christmas…” just wishing for a bit more JOY and some holiday spirit for all, especially this year. Merry Christmas! Love, MC.”
Last year, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. For the 2019 holiday season, she released two new videos for the song as well as a deluxe 25th anniversary edition of her album, Merry Christmas.
