2021 BET Hip Hop Awards: Here Are The Presenters That Stole The Show

Trina was stunning the entire night.

The 16th Annual BET Hip Hop Awards is officially a wrap, as the biggest night in rap gave out the honors for the creme de la creme in the genre this year. 

The fun-filled lineup included The 85 South Show (DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller, and Chico Bean) as return hosts, Young Thug, Gunna, Bia, Lil Jon, Baby Keem, and Isaiah Rashad as performers and winners that included Lil Baby, who took home "Hip Hop Artist of The Year" and "Best Duo" with Lil Durk as well as Megan Thee Stallion who won big, taking home hardware in the "Best Hip Hop Video", "Song Of The Year" and "Best Collaboration" categories.

A wrinkle in these Hip Hop Awards that deserves a lot more acknowledging, however, is the role presenters play in making the show memorable. With Trina, Remy Ma, Jermaine Dupri, and Rapsody as presenters, there were tons of quotes and moments to capture. 

 

  1. Trina - Best New Hip Hop Artist Award

    Trina has always has been the baddest chick and she showed it again last night as the presenter of the "Best New Hip Hop Artist" award.

    "Yall know they can't keep a diamond princess down," she began her speech before awarding the evnetual winner, Yung Bleu.  

  2. Remy Ma - Presenting the Best Hip Hop Video Award

    Staring in the upcoming BET original movie, American Gangster Presents: Big Fifty The Delrhonda Hood StorRemy Ma, was a breath of fresh air last night when presenting the "Best Hip Hop Video" award. 

    Rocking inches down to her feet and a red dress, the New York rapper made sure to give props to Latto, who perfromed before she took the stage, before announcing Cardi and Megan's "Wap" as the winner. 

  3. LL Cool J - Cultural Influence Award

    Rap legend LL Cool J made an appearance last night to present the inaugural Rock the Bells Cultural Influence Award to Tyler, the Creator.

    As founder of Rock The Bells, which was started with the aim to elevate calssic hip-hop with a modern day appoach by building a bidge between the og's and the younger genereation, the "Mama Said Knock You Out" rapper expressed how the Tyler was the perfect candidate for their innagural year. 

    "I'm proud, im inpsired, to present the frist first-ever Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award to an artist that is original; is fearless; he's creative when it comes to his approach to hip hop," he said before handing off the award. 

  4. Rapsody - Hip Hop Album of The Year Award

    The gracious and lovely Rapsody showed face last night to present arguably the biggest honor of the night — Hip Hop Album of The Year. 

    Besides asking Tyler, The Creator to wear his oragne furry hat mid-speech (to which he responded "I'll think about it"), she set the stage for the award, who Tyler beat out Moneybagg Yo, Migos, Megan Thee Stallion, Dj Khaled, 21 Savage and J.Cole for. 

  5. Jermaine Dupri - I Am Hip Hop Award

    Last but not least there was Jermaine Dupri, who presented Nelly with the "I Am Hip Hop" Award.

    The Atlanta super-producer was there to hand off the prestegious honor.
