Ice Cube is one of many high profile performers hitting the stage at BET Experience in Los Angeles (June 25-28). While you can expect a lot of surprises in store, the veteran rapper confirms that NWA will reunite at BETX, performing Straight Outta Compton classics with MC Ren and DJ Yella.

"It's just gonna be a great night," he said."We're gonna be there with Snoop [Dogg], Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q. It's just gonna be one of those 'I wish I were there in L.A. nights.' And we're gonna rock that s**t, no problem."

Ice Cube didn’t reveal exactly what songs he would play, saying that he wants to keep it a secret. But he wants to the crowd to feel nostalgic. “You know, old-school hip hop at its finest,” he said.

The historical reunion is happening before the NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton, releases on August 14. The movie centers on NWA’s formation, journey to rap stardom and life after Eazy-E’s death in 1995.

Ice Cube also respects the whole concept of BET Experience and the opportunity to perform in his hometown on a big stage. "Not only am I a fan of BET and I'm really grateful that BET is still around and doing events of this magnitude, but for it to be in my hometown, L.A., and for me to perform at the Staples Center, it's a real cool notch on my belt," he said. "It's great in so many ways."
