President Barack Obama has a pretty eclectic music palate, so when it comes to narrowing down his favorite song of 2015, the commander in chief had lots to pick from. When asked by People magazine for his top choice however, Obama gave an answer that might surprise you.
The To Pimp a Butterfly cut, assisted by vocals from Ronald Isley and James Fauntleroy, details a conversation between Lamar and a homeless man. In April of this year, K Dot gave MTV News a breakdown of the TPAB tracks, including Obama’s fav.
“It’s a true story,” said Lamar. “These are actually moments of integrity, actually being able to talk to somebody. Me talking to him was simply a thank you from God. And I felt God speaking through him to get at me.”
