Kylie Jenner Threw A Birthday Party With A ‘Problematic’ Theme And Twitter Is Tired
The KarJenners are making headlines for all the wrong reasons — again.
In the latest episode of WTF did they do now, Kylie Jenner posted pictures and video of a birthday party she threw for her bestie Anastasia "Stassi" Karanikolaou, and it’s not going over well with social media.
The theme she chose for the festivities is The Handmaid’s Tale.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Handmaid’s Tale, it is a book by Margaret Atwood that was recently turned into a popular drama series that portrays a dystopian society in which infertile married couples of high status enslave fertile women and subject them to monthly rapes in order to get them pregnant. For many, the story hits too close to home given the current attack on reproductive rights. In other words — not really fodder for sexy costumes at a birthday bash.
The party was reportedly thrown for longtime friend Stassi and included attendees Sofia Richie, Kylie’s assistant Victoria Villarroel, Tiffany Sorya, Yris Palmer of Star Lash Extensions and more.
Aside from the costumes, Yris made the theme all the way confirmed in her Instagram Story by tagging the series’ IG account.
