George Kenneth “G.K.” Butterfield Jr. currently serves as the U.S. Representative for North Carolina’s 1st congressional district, which is located in the northeastern corner of the state, ranging from Durham to Elizabeth City. In January 2015, he started his term as chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus.
