As a teenager, Jhené Aiko broke into the music industry by singing backbround vocals for B2K and movie soundtracks. She then signed to Epic Records, where she was due to release her debut album, but ended up taking a break from music. The LA songbird continued to pen lyrics and collaborate with other artists until she released her first official mixtape, Sailing Soul(s), in March 2011. Now signed to producer and Def Jam A&R No I.D.'s Atrium Records, Jhené dropped her freshman EP Sail Out in 2013. A year later, she released her debut studio LP, Souled Out,
